- 1 Lycans
- 2 Werewolves
Lycans, or Lycanathropes descend from the first 'cursed' bloodline. Many would say the 'curse' was a blessing from the Goddess of the Moon in order to protect those who cannot protect themselves. Warriors by nature, Lycans feel the need to protect those who cannot protect themselves.
They are bigger than man, in their human form. In their beast form they have two variations.
Half-Shift; A half-shift if what Lycans are primarily known for. Their Half-Man, Half-Beast form which has said to protect the weak from the strong for centuries.
Full Shift; A Full shift consists of a full body transformation into a being that is closer to a wolf in shape. These creatures have longer legs, they are leaner, shorter fur and a wolf-like snout with demonic-like canines. A Lycan full shift appears in history to be closest to a Hellhound.
Lycans are taller than man, and build muscle faster. They are incredibly intelligent and rarely loose control. Their bite, as the history dictates can create new 'turned' lycans however they never live past their second full moon. Only born Lycans survive past that timeframe.
Lycans display inhuman physical strength, speed, reflexes, endurance, and agility, which carries over into their human forms. They possess enhanced senses of smell, hearing, and sight that are superior even to those of wolves, not just humans, and are also able to sense Vampires in close proximity to themselves.
They are able to break through solid concrete walls, and seem to be stronger than most young Vampires, as every hand-to-hand confrontation between the two races under normal circumstances has ended with a Lycan victory, the few exceptions being a young Lycan against an Older vampire. ycans can also use their claws and strength to scale sheer surfaces, having been seen to crawl along walls at great speed in pursuit of prey. They possess the ability to land on their feet without harm when falling from great heights. Lycans also possess superb physical resilience and remarkable regenerative abilities. Their recovery abilities are hampered by the presence of silver in their bodies due to their higher tolerance to silver. However, to older Lycans, the silver is rarely fatal. Lycans are also immune to Wolfsbane.
The only way to kill a Lycan completely is to severe it's spine and remove the head.
Although Lycans have various different appearances depending on their place of birth, there are a couple things that visually define a Lycan.
Height - Lycans are taller than the average person, and can even tower over even the tallest of Alpha Werewolves.
Body - Lycan females are lean, yet quite defined in their muscular structure, their male counterparts are larger and can appear more threatening.
Although their regenerative healing is a primary part of their species, Lycans can show their scaring under direct moonlight whilst it being unseen in sunlight or moonless nights.
Eyes - One difference about Lycans, primarily Lycan Alphas are their eyes. The closer to the heart of the curse, the closer to the colour of precious metals their eyes are. For females, their eyes in their closest form will be a unmatched silver. For males, their eyes can differ from obsidian to gold, gold being the strongest of the bloodline - Alphas.
Lycan Elders Council
The Lycan Elders Council consist of previous Lycan Alphas, both male and female. Though lacking in the power of their younger offspring, the respect they hold in the community is power. There are only 8 remaining Elders on the Council after the war.
Lycan Alphas are the direct offspring to those seated on the council. Compared to other Lycans, Lycan Alphas are far more superior - yet there are less than 8 in the world. They learn and achieve quickly and effortlessly with wwhat takes years of hard work for others and growing substantially stronger and better with each challenge. They naturally arouse a strong admiration and desire among their kind, as they personify the pinnacle of their species, and even the most hostile are forced to acknowledge their towering superiority and amazing prowess.
They are brilliant leaders and tacticians, having plotted to target the Vampire Council during the war to cripple the species. They take better decisions and know when to fight all out, or to let it slide.
Lycan Alphas have the ability to command other Lycans, and those further down the bloodline both with and without words. They are able to manage their own aura is easily, Female Alphas more so as they hold that maternal edge.
Though they are harder to kill than other Lycans, their way of death is the same.
Enhanced Body - Lycan Alpha's physical abilities are glaringly, obviously and supernaturally physically superior over other lycans because their capabilities are far beyond natural levels, making them immensely stronger, faster, and more durable than regular beings, they can achieve by seemingly any method of training.
Disease Immunity - Lycan Alphas, being the peak of their species, are immmune to poisons, toxins, venoms, viruses, bacteria, parasites, pathogens, allergen, etc.
Regenerative Healing - Lycan Alpha's can rapidly regenerate. In other words, they recreate lost or damaged tissues, organs and limbs. The rate and amount of healing vary widely. For Lycan Alphas, some bloodlines some can regrow missing limbs over a lengthy time frame, others must put the limb back in place for rapid regeneration. Lycan Alpha's generally in very good physical shape, as their bodies are constantly reverting to a healthy state, granting them nigh-inexhaustible stamina and vitality.
Lycan Alphas can regenerate not just their cellular tissues, as well as providing a form of self-sustenance, foregoing the needs for oxygen and food intake.
Decelerated Aging - Though perceived as Immortals, Lycan Alphas have an incredibly long lifespan. They hit mental and physical maturity in their first 20 years of life, however will stay at that age with a slow decrease over hundreds of years. They can live through many generations of their Pack before they show signs of their age. The estimated age before death is 900 years, however there has been bloodlines that have survived longer.
Feral Mind - All Lycans can tap into primal, unstoppable rage that allows them to perform in vastly increased capacity, taking and inflicting damage that they wouldn't in their normal state. In some cases, a Lycan's mind descends so far into the feral rage that, mentally, they are little more than animals.
Weather Adaption - Lycan Alphas are unaffected by the weather, including wind, rain, temperature, electricity, fog, etc. Their senses, movement or any actions are not affected by weather in any way.
Trained from the moment they can walk, alongside their Alphas, Lycan Warriors are formidable foe. Much like regular Lycans, the warriors have the same skillset however they have honed it down to the highest point that can be managed. They follow the direct order of their Alpha and noone else.
Enhanced Body - Like their Alpha's Warrior Lycans' capabilities are far beyond natural levels, making them immensely stronger, faster, and more durable than regular beings, they can achieve by seemingly any method of training.
Disease Immunity - Lycan Warriors, are immmune to poisons, toxins, venoms, viruses, bacteria, parasites, pathogens, allergen, etc. However can be effected by the toxins in a Vampire bite - making them quite unwell for a duration of time.
Regenerative Healing - Lycan Warriors can rapidly regenerate. In other words, they recreate lost or damaged tissues and organs. The rate and amount of healing vary widely. For Lycan Warriors must put the limb back in place for rapid regeneration. Lycan Warriors generally in very good physical shape, as their bodies are constantly reverting to a healthy state, granting them nigh-inexhaustible stamina and vitality.
Decelerated Aging - Though perceived as Immortals, Lycan Warriors have an incredibly long lifespan however not as long as their Alpha's. They hit mental and physical maturity in their first 20 years of life, however will stay at that age with a slow decrease over hundreds of years. They can live through many generations of their Pack before they show signs of their age. The estimated age before death is 500 years, however there has been bloodlines that have survived longer.
Feral Mind - All Lycan's can tap into primal, unstoppable rage that allows them to perform in vastly increased capacity, taking and inflicting damage that they wouldn't in their normal state. Weather Adaption - Lycan Warriors are unaffected by the weather, including wind, rain, temperature, electricity, fog, etc. Their senses, movement or any actions are not affected by weather in any way.
Spine Removal - Only thing that can kill a Lycan.
Silver - Silver is not fatal for Lycans, though it is disruptive and annoying.
Werewolves, also known as Lichen, these creatures are a diluted version of their Lycan predecessors. This bloodline has been diluted with Human mates throughout the years. They hold no ‘religious’ connection to their creation, yet they think and act like humans despite their augmented abilities. The most obvious being ability, being to change into a wolf with the natural characteristics inherent to both wolves and humans, including senses, stamina, agility, etc. In addition werewolves are often attributed strength and speed far beyond those of wolves or men and may have them in lesser amount even when untransformed. They also have a regenerative healing factor, which heals things quicker than a human however it does leave scars. Werewolves, are no match for their Lycan predecessors but they can hold their own against a vampire, preferably a young one.
Their wolf-form may be completely natural wolf in form, something resembling a Dire Wolf, or even something directly from the darkest dredges of human fear for wolves. Werewolves have several weaknesses that be fatal in high dosages, Wolfsbane and Silver.
The quickest and effective way to kill a Werewolf is to take the head and heart - preferably with Silver.
Also known as Lichen Alphas, these beings are the next highest beast beneath their predecessor the Lycan. They are augmented Werewolves, who are the superior version of the bloodline. They can reach an untrained Lycan strength and abilities, when they’ve been training for years.
They too have the ability to command, though only their own bloodline.
Much like their Alpha, they’ve been trained to be the best, to accompany their Alpha and to protect when commanded. They are highly trained and skilled with many forms of fighting in human and wolf form.
General Werewolf Population
The general Werewolf population are stronger than humans however are not trained to the extent of the Warriors or their Alphas. The general population are normally the targets for attack, they are often caught by Vampires - unable to reach the strength of even a Turned Vampire who is over 200 years.
Often confused with Omegas, Wolf-born are the result of a human and werewolf mating. They have a 50% chance of having a wolf, though in most cases they are unable to shift. These beings are trained to protect pups, pregnant women and those who cannot fight. They are highly trained in their human forms, but they also have the senses and strengths of their Werewolf Warrior counterparts.
The weakest link of any pack, they are human-born within the bloodline as a result of the dilution. The more diluted the bloodline, the more human they are. Omegas have the connection to the Pack but have no enhancements - they are completely human with a connection.
Human mates often have this rank, as they are rarely turned due to the volatile nature of a turned wolf.
Turned wolves are humans who have been bitten on a full-moon by a Werewolf. Due to the dilution, they often survive the change but loose their sanity if unmated, or are without their maker. They're strength is beneath that of a Wolf-born, but they are often made in numbers for war.
They have the same weaknesses as humans, and they have no tolerance for silver or wolfsbane - even the smallest dosage could be fatal.
A Packless wolf. Werewolves, unlike their Lycan Predecessors, are unable to be on their own. They need the pack link to keep their sanity, without it they are volatile and untrustworthy.
There are only a handful of Rogues who are able to keep their sanity when Rogue, that is if they were batshit crazy to start with.
Silver - A given for Werewolves, depending on bloodline will depend on how lethal Silver is.
